2020 Honda Odyssey Release Date – Honda sold 56,611 units of the Odyssey in the first seven months of the year, or 6.5 percent less than the January-July 2018 range. In an effort to boost sales, the minivan is entering the 2020 model year with an optional 25th anniversary accessory package to mark a quarter of a century since Odyssy’s 1994 launch in North America.
2020 Honda Odyssey Release Date
The Honda Odyssey is only about 25 years old, and 2020 Honda Odyssey Release Date is celebrating its minivan legacy for the 2020 model year. We got the non-sliding door Odyssey for the first time as a 1995 model year minivan, and the nameplate has been sold continuously since then.
Perhaps more important is the company’s decision to make the 10-speed automatic transmission standard across the range, which is the same thing we can say about the Idle stop system. The latter cuts fuel consumption by automatically switching off the engine after the Odyssey comes to a stop for at least two seconds. When the driver releases the brake pedal, the engine starts again.
Speaking of engine, all versions of the Alabama-built minivan are powered by a 3.5-liter V6 with 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet (355 Newton-meters) of torque on the barrel.
Prices start at $ 31,785 (including $ 1,095 destination charging) for the base 2020 Honda Odyssey LX and rise to $ 48,415 for the Range-topping Elite trim. Even the base model has automatic climate control, multi-angle rear camera, push button start and two USB ports. Go for the flagship trim trim and you get niceties like LED headlights, front and rear parking sensors, ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone charging, power-folding mirrors, a better sound system, power tailgate, automatic wipers, Tri-zone climate control and a heated steering wheel .
To mark the Odyssey’s transition into the 2020 model year, Honda has dropped an unusually large photo gallery with the fifth generation of its people mover.
So what is Honda doing to celebrate? The Japanese brand is releasing a 25th anniversary accessory package for 2020. The package will be available at all trim levels of the Odyssey, and will consist mainly of appearance elements. You get 25th anniversary badging on tailgate, front screens, illuminated sill plates and on key fob. So Honda starts stacking on chrome. There is a chrome roof bracket, lower door trim and rear bumper protector. If you want to spend even more, there are unique 25-year anniversary 19-inch wheels that may be optional. The package costs $ 1,500 without the wheels, or $ 2,800 with the 19-inch wheels. It is available at all Odyssey trim levels.
There are other updates and changes to the 2020 Honda Odyssey in addition to the 25th Anniversary package. All Odyssey trims will now come with a 10-speed automatic transmission as standard instead of just the top two trims (touring and Elite). Previous to the 2020 model year, the lower trim (LX, EX, EX-L) Odysseys sent their power through a nine-speed automatic that has been eliminated from the Odyssey lineup. Every model will have Honda’s start-stop system by default now that 10-speed is on every trim, too. There was no fuel economy difference according to EPA ratings, but we enjoy using the Honda 10-speed automatic more than the nine-Speed.
Prices have risen only slightly with the 2020 changes. A base LX now starts at $ 31,785 after the $ 1,095 destination charge. An Odyssey Elite with anniversary package and wheels will drive you all the way up to $ 51,215. The increases are different depending on what trim you go for, but a 2020 Odyssey is as much as $ 530 more than a similar 2019 Odyssey. Remember, you will get a better transmission in 2020 for some trims, though. That’s not a bad trade-off for the few extra hundred dollars you’ll spend. Honda says 2020 Odysseys should roll into dealerships tomorrow.
Priced at $ 1,500 or $ 2,800 if you go for the exclusive dealer-installed 19-inch wheels, the package bundles a chrome roof bracket and body side moldings, while the chrome rear bumper protector and the special key fob are also part of the deal. To sweeten the pot, Honda will add illuminated sill plates with the anniversary logo, along with special badges adorning the front fenders and tailgate.
