2021 Honda Pilot Release Date – The third-generation Honda Pilot arrived in 2016, and the 2019 Honda Pilot arrived with a sharp refresh to keep it modern and a little more aggressive than before. With these changes still fresh, we expect the 2020 Honda Pilot to be a carryover model.
2021 Honda Pilot Release Date
Being a carryover, we expect the 2020 Honda Pilot to retain the same basic design language it’s had since 2016 along with its new-for-2019 front fascia, bumper with larger fog light housings, standard LED low-beam headlights, taillights, rear bumper, and chrome accents. Inside, we also expect everything to carry over unchanged, including the new trim around the vents, three-way heated front seats, and widened front armrests that debuted in 2019.
With its looks remaining the same, we also expect its standard features to remain the same. If this is the case, the 2020 Honda Pilot will come standard with a 5-inch infotainment screen, 18-inch alloy wheels, a multi-angle rearview camera, automatic high-beam headlights, a seven-speaker audio system, Bluetooth audio streaming, and more.
We also expect no changes to the under-hood bits in the 2020 Honda Pilot. If this is the case, the 2020 Pilot will continue with a standard 280-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine that pairs to a six- or nine-speed automatic transmission. The Pilot will also come standard with front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive will be available.
The current Honda Pilot is an IIHS Top Safety Pick with “Good” ratings in all the key crash tests an “Acceptable” rating in the passenger-side small-overlap test. It also has a “Superior” rating in the forward-crash prevention test thanks to its standard automatic emergency braking.
Other standard safety goodies include road-departure mitigation, forward-collision warning, lane-departure warning, lane-keep assist, and adaptive cruise control. We expect all the safety equipment and ratings to carry into the 2020 Honda Pilot unchanged.
2021 Honda Pilot Pricing & Release Date
We don’t have an official release date on the 2020 Honda Pilot yet, but based on previous model years, we expect a summer 2019 arrival. Pricing also remains unconfirmed, but with no big changes in the pipeline, we expect the 2020 Pilot’s MSRP to remain similar to the current model’s price range of $32,495 to $49,065.
